ASB Card/Yearbook

An ASB (Associated Student Body) card enables students to take an active role in student activities and/or to hold class or ASB office. ASB funds support the school newspaper, yearbook, clubs, dances, athletic events, leadership development, lunchtime activities, rallies, the annual food drive benefiting Sunnyvale Community Services, Winter Wonder Week, Battle of the Classes, MultiCultural Week and Homecoming. By joining ASB a student receives a yearbook, spirit shirt and free admission to the Homecoming Dance and saves on admission to other ASB sponsored dances. Students attending Santa Clara Valley Athletic League events at any school in the Fremont Union High School District (at Monta Vista, Fremont, Cupertino, Homestead or Lynbrook) are admitted free with their ASB card.

The cost of an ASB Card/Yearbook is $100. If you do not purchase an ASB Card/Yearbook now, but decide you want a Yearbook at the end of the year, it will cost around $140.

For more information visit the ASB office.

Parking Permits

Parking Permits are $35 for the school year. Student Vehicle Registration forms are available in the ASB office or here . Students may purchase permits during Round-Up or during office hours.

Students should not park in the student lot until he/she has purchased a permit and it is displayed in the vehicle.

If you owe delinquencies to the school, it is your responsibility to clear them. If you believe the delinquency is in error, you need to speak directly with the teacher who reported the delinquency. The teacher is the only person who can authorize clearing the delinquency. Delinquencies carry over from one year to the next, so students need to keep current to avoid problems. Students who are on the delinquency list cannot attend school dances and seniors with delinquencies still owing at graduation will not receive a diploma. If you have any questions concerning a delinquency, the ASB office will do their best to answer them, but please remember the delinquency is between you and your teacher or coach.

Bus Passes

Students eligible for the subsidized bus pass program will receive information mailed home in August. Students on the program may purchase their bus passes during office hours in the ASB office beginning on the last school day of the month. There are no bus passes in June or August.

The district policies for subsidized bus passes are as follows:

  1. Students who reside north of the Southern Pacific/Cal train tracks are eligible for a subsidized bus pass.

  2. Students/families will contribute $15/month toward the cost of the bus pass.

  3. All students receiving a subsidized bus pass must have an application on file.  The application for a subsidized bus pass is included with this letter.

  4. Students eligible for free and reduced lunch and who are eligible for subsidized bus passes will receive the bus pass at no cost.  An application for free and reduced lunch is included with this letter. In addition to a free bus pass there may be other programs for which you may qualify for assistance.  For your convenience a Fee Reduction Eligibility Application is enclosed.

  5. Bus passes are not transferable to other students.  Transferring a subsidized bus pass from one student to another will result in the automatic revocation of the subsidized pass for the remainder of the school year.

  6. Bus passes are not replaceable if lost or stolen.

  7. Students must maintain good attendance.  Prior to the first of each month attendance will be checked by our office.  Students with three or more cuts are NOT eligible to receive a free or subsidized pass for the following month.  Parents and students are advised three tardies are counted as one cut.

  8. The district will provide subsidized passes September thru May.

  9. Checks cannot be accepted to purchase a bus pass.  Students must purchase the pass with cash or money order only.
