Guidance Department Home

Welcome to the Homestead High School Guidance Department!

The Guidance Office is open from 7:30 am – 4:00 pm

Guidance Counselor Hours are:

Marisa Amezquita (A-F): M-W 7:30-3:10; Th 7:30-1:30; Fri 7:30-3:00 pm

Nicole Deatherage (G-Li): 7:15-3:00 pm

Wilma Wu (Lj-R): 8:00-3:30 pm

Leslie Ogawa-Boon (S-Z): 8:00-3:30 pm

Guidance Counselors are generally available for student drop-in appointments during brunch or lunch. Appointments are recommended for other times during the day as Counselors are often in classroom presentations and are required to attend meetings and conferences, which may pull them away from the office at various times.

All Staff members attend collaboration meetings on Monday mornings until 9:00 am and are unavailable for appointments during collaboration meeting time.

New Alpha Breakdowns for Guidance Counselors

Over the past few years, a disparity has developed in the alpha-group breakdowns for Guidance Counselors. In order to accommodate this difference, the below breakdowns will be effective immediately:

Marisa Amezquita Last Names: A – F
Nicole Deatherage   Last Names: G – Li
Wilma Wu   Last Names: Lj – R
Leslie Ogawa-Boon Last Names: S - Z

While not all students are affected, our Guidance Counselors have been collaborating and will continue to do so for a smooth transition for those students moving Guidance Counselors.
